2005 Gnarly Head, Merlot

 Big waves of rich, ripe fruit flavors splash over the palate as the introduction to Gnarly Merlot. Dark, lush black cherry character is layered with hints of toasted almond, vanilla and cocoa, which carries into a smooth, intriguing finish.

 The aromas are plentiful; leading with juicy ripe blackberries, dried black cherries, toasted caramel and dark chocolate. Further richness emerges as savory notes of tamarind, smoky bacon and leather come forward.

2006 Rombauer Zinfandel

Rich, vibrant, and juicy, this wine boasts aromas of cherry and wild berry, with soft notes of black pepper. Tightly packed layers of cranberries, wild berries, and ripe cherries flow together with a touch of allspice for a rich, full flavor. Moderate tannins show in the rich, mouth filling finish.

2005 Mount Veeder, Cabernet Sauvignon

Black cherry, plum and cassis. Hints of black pepper and toacco are accented by vanilla, dark chocolate and leather. Full and supple on the palate, with luscious tannins. Balanced by flavors of blackberry, cocoa and cedar.

2002 Iron Horse Classic Vintage Brut

A classy blend of 68% Pinot Noir and 32% Chardonnay, aged an average of four years on the yeast in the bottle. Wonderfully rich and creamy, it sends all kinds of memory bells that say "champagne", though the fruit is unmistakably Green Valley of Russian River Valley. It is vintage quality.

Canard-Duchene Champagne Brut

Straw yellow colour, fine mousse.Intense? fresh fruit aromas, characteristic of Pinot grapes. Fruity notes, mingled with the fragrance of fresh brioche, a sign of maturity.

Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Brut

A pronounced graphite aroma introduces this finely wrought, chiseled Champagne. Lemon verbena, ginger and spice notes weigh in, and the finish is lingering, if tart.

Laurent-Perrier Champagne Brut

The color is a pale golden hue, with fine and persistent bubbles. The nose is fresh and delicate, showing good complexity with hints of citrus and white fruit. 2007 New Harbor Sauvignon Blanc

An enticing bouquet of citrus, passion-fruit, and guava. Its crisp finish is characteristic of Marlborough, New Zealand's premier winegrowing region, and makes this wine a perfect pairing for summer salads, roasted chicken, pan-fried prawns and seafood dishes.

2003 Rancho Zabaco Sauvignon Blanc Reserve

Aromas of lime peel, lemongrass and sweet pea are matched with flavors of grapefruit and passion fruit. The mouthfeel is both crisp and refined, with a touch of mineral adding focus to the fruit character and length to the finish. The wine is elegant and expressive.

2007 Sbragia Family Sauvignon Blanc

Tangy, tart, nervy, racy, or zesty, and this character pervades even sweet and dessert versions, keeping them from being cloying and sticky-tasting.





 

2007 Morgan Sauvignon Blanc Monterey

This medium-bodied wine features tightly focused flavors of green apples, citrus, and a light floral aroma, rounded out by sweet, grassy undertones characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc. Oak aging offsets overly aggressive flavors and adds an elegant texture.

2005 Bridlewood Viognier Central Coast

Citrus and flower aromas including honeysuckle. Bright in the mouth with gentle tartness. Slightly sweet flavors of peach, pineapple, and tangerine. Big enough to serve with food, but perfect for cheese and fruit.

Pouilly Fuisse White Burgundy Wine

Pouilly-Fuissé is a dry white wine made from Chardonnay. It is pale and refreshing, often quite delicate. It is not as expensive as the big wines of the Côte de Beaune to the north.

2005 August Briggs, Lake County Petite Sirah

This rich, full bodied wine, possesses an opaque purple color in addition to a big sweet nose of black cherry, black pepper, and fresh earth. Cocoa aroma increase it's attractiveness to taste. It has a long broad finish that carries to the end.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Garnet-hued with a charming bouquet of violets, cherries and toasty oak, the wine is quite elegant on the palate, exuding juicy raspberry, blackberry and cassis flavors touched with fresh-roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate.

2005 Mokelumne Oaks, Lockeford, Ca, Cab-Shiraz

It takes on characteristics of sweet black berries, black currants and plum, with a hint of smokiness. Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz contribute flavor and structure to this multi-variety wine. The Cab-Shiraz blend from Lockeford-grown grapes, is a big blast of snappy red currants. The heavy tannic finish is of dark oak smoke and tar.

2004 McNab Ridge Zinfandel, Mendocino

GarnetFresh jammy fruit flavors of blackberry, raspberry and hint of strawberry. Dusty with good varietal character.

2004 Opus One, A Napa Valley Red Wine

It a lustrous dark ruby, presents aromas of violets, cedar, black tea leaves, black pepper and brioche. A soft, creamy entry gives way to a concentrated mid-palate that expands in the mouth and lingers on the finish. Elements of cassis, toffee and cocoa round out the rich flavors of the wine. Intense fruit, bright acid and sturdy tannins promise resilience and longevity.

2006 Crozes Hermitage, Alain Graillot

Ripe and focused, with tasty plum sauce, black licorice snap, violet and graphite notes. Tangy iron notes enliven the stylish finish. Nicely done.



 

2006 Domaines Leflaive, Macon Verze

Peach and grilled pineapple on the nose, tasted blind I would have thought Margaret River, but with more conviction, concentration and more savouriness. In the mouth grapefruit tartness and bitterness along with compelling length and fleshy texture.

2005 Howell Mountain, Zinfandel
Dragon Vineyard, Turley

It shows beautiful crushed rock, acacia flower, raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry characteristics, full body, supple tannin, and decent acidity. It won't make old bones, but for drinking during its first 4-5 years of life.

2007 Viognier, Capay Valley, Pasos Vineyards

Aromas of apricot custard and pineapple. Follow through on a round entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with green melon, papaya, and pear skin notes. Finishes with a crisp, lightly peppery apple skin and nut accented fade.  

2005 Calcareous Vineyard, Roussanne, Paso Robles

The 2005 Roussanne has a brilliant golden straw yellow color. The nose exhibits aromas of orange peal, honey and tropical notes. The mouth feel is rich with an oily viscosity and a lively minerality.

Very dark ruby color. Quinta do Vesuvio 2001 will surely make any lunch or dinner a memorable one. It is a fabulous accompaniment to chocolate desserts, such as chocolate pudding, but can also be enjoyed on its own - it is an experience in itself.

1988 Louise, Pommery

Highly aromatic, penetrating aromas of ginger, coffee, lemon curd; complex yeast autolysis notes. Intensely flavored and quite dry in the mouth, with strong acidity giving the flavors a slightly tart edge.

2006 MacMurray Ranch, Sonoma Coast, Pinot Gris

Shows fruit and flowers in the front palate, with a voluptuous texture and substantial body. Rich aromas of fig, peach, pear, and tropical fruits evolve into a smooth, lingering finish. Pair this wine’s richness with sautéed scallops, soft-shell crabs, lobster, foie gras or highlight its bright acidity.

2004 Silkwood, Syrah, Stanislaus County

Full of wild, dark berry fruit underscored by cedar and mocha notes. Dominated by cherry liqueur and subtle licorice notes. Llight but steady spice notes, pomegranate and a touch of espresso bean at the tail end.

Golden straw, green apple tart, pineapple, roasted chestnut, brioche, graham flour, butterscotch sweet oak, lemon rind, wet rock, rich oily texture, pineapple, pear, burnt butter, roasted chestnut, apple butter, flint, toasted brioche, integrated oak spice.

2006 Gnarly Head, Old Vine

Medium-red, the wine has aromas of red berries and wood. Flavors are lush, with a bounty of round fruit, spice, oak and hint of tartness leading to a sustained finish.

2005 Silver Oak, Alexander Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon

Beautifully expresses the full aromatic ripeness of this exemplary vintage. It has a dark garnet color and a nose of black cherry, clove, 
cinnamon, lavender and licorice. With proper cellaring it should give drinking pleasure through 2032.

2008 m2 Wines Celestial Viognier, Clarksburg

The grapes for this wine were harvested by hand, pressed as whole clusters and fermented in neutral French oak. This bright and crisp full-bodied wine bursts with aromas of peaches, citrus blossoms and springtime flowers with perfumed hints of lemon grass and tropical fruits.

2007 Rusack Pinot Noir, Santa Maria Valley

Captures some of the Santa Maria Valley region’s classic characters of blackberry, dark cherry and smoky aromas, which follow through on the palate. The soft, silky tannins make for an approachable young wine that is also age worthy.
 

2006 Titus Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon,
Napa Valley

The outstanding Reserve has more blackberry, blueberry, espresso, and chocolate notes, with hints of licorice, and again, spring flowers. This dense, rich wine has subtle smoke, full body, and is a seriously endowed, classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. It should drink well for 15 or more years.

Calaveras County

Refreshingly light citrus, essence of fruit cocktail and a light vanilla nose. Viscous mouth feel with golden apple and quince has an elegant well-balanced finish of Asian pear and thyme.

2005 Chatom Vineyards Syrah, Calaveras County

This full bodied Syrah has an introduction of intense black fruit, vanilla and a hint of oak. Flavors of baker's chocolate, deep black currants and sweet basil all lead to a wonderful lingering fruit finish.
